Located in the historic original Matakana Dairy Factory, just 1 hour north of Auckland. The Cream of Matakana is an eclectic design store with a huge selection of unique, New Zealand made and affordable gifts, all in the coolest store.

Whether purchasing for yourself or others you will find, amidst the thriving hustle and bustle of the Saturday Farmers Market, a fabulous collection of jewellery, children's & infants gifts & practical items. Useful household items, beautiful handcrafted additions for your home or gifts. Our selection of recycled/upcycled clothing and accessories is truly fabulous.

We specialise in unique hand made in New Zealand items that can be just the right gift.

We're open seven days a week during Summer (Sept - May); 10:00 till 3:00 and from 9am on Saturdays.

We source all the well priced, beautiful items we can, made locally & Made in New Zealand. These are complimented with  reasonably priced, best quality lines from overseas.

All the time we are looking for other great products to surprise & delight our customers. We focus on quality & affordable price. All items we stock we take home & try out so we can offer real advice on their usefulness & offer more than an empty sales pitch.

We back our products 100%. If you are not totally impressed with their usefulness, function, construction or indulgent purpose we will refund or replace their value.

One of our best sellers is our Mr Four Square merchandise - tea towels, tees, bags and fun accessories. We also stock Matakana Tees for that perfect souvenir.
